The history of the tuxedo shirt revealed it as one of the most misunderstood garments. Initially seen as an undergarment, this led me to explore the history of men's and women's underwear, including corsets, while preserving the shirt’s key elements like the collar and bib. Inspired by the concepts of covering and uncovering, I aimed to highlight its original undergarment aspect. I also looked at women's undergarments to influence new silhouettes. My design focused on creating a versatile, easily assembled garment, like an Ikea product. I elevated the male corset to prominence, alongside the bib. After remaking the shirt in tech fabric, I improved its design. Despite initial doubts, I’m proud of the final result, blending history with modern functionality.
