FERRARELLI

My project is inspired by my Italian heritage, linking my grandfather, Salvatore, and designer Elsa Schiaparelli. Ferragamo’s bold use of materials and Schiaparelli’s surreal femininity guide my collection, blending playful shapes with classic elegance. I plan to incorporate exaggerated shoulders and oversized bows for a distinctive look. My sketchbook will act as an archive, covering my grandfather’s legacy, raffia’s history in Tuscany, and Schiaparelli’s details and materials. Using collaged images from the 1940s and my family’s past, I explored contrasts and textures. Inspired by both designers’ experimental approaches, I aim to push boundaries with unique shapes, textures, and color combinations while adding my own creative perspective.
